From the spring half-term to the autumn half-term, Maarten Boon’s Juttersplezier – drawn by two large horses – rides from the lighthouse for a trip across the sands. Along the way, Maarten might give away some of his secrets! There’s a beachcomber’s coffee stop on the way.
Karting Texel - De Koog
The largest karting circuit on Texel is 525 metres long and 7 metres wide. Part of the track is set up as a kid’s track during the summer season (8 to 12 years). As well as karting there’s plenty more to do on the circuit park.

Motor gliding – Texel Airfield
After a brief instruction, you will fly with an experience pilot/instructor for 30 minutes above Texel. If you’ve always wanted to find out what motor gliding is like, this is your chance. De Noordkroon sheep farm - Near Den Burg
In the handsomely decorated sheep barn at De Noordkroon, Renske will show you the world of the Texel sheep. The ‘Wolvet’ theatre show is a unique performance by 1 farmer and 50 sheep. The sheep farmer, Renske and the sheep play themselves. Fun for young and old!
Texel Airfield - De Cocksdorp
A visit to Texel Airfield is fun excursion. This airfield has take-off and landing strips made of grass. You can enjoy viewing the air traffic, parachutists and Air Museum here. You can also go on a round trip over Texel. There are also opportunities for a parachute jump. Krim guests receive a good discount on round trips and certain jumps.
De Vriendschap - De Cocksdorp
How about a day out on Vlieland, or seal-watching? (from mid-April to late September). The boat departs from the jetty at post 33. On board you can enjoy the view of the mudflats. Half an hour later you are on Vlieland where the Vliehorsexpres (a sort of truck) takes you to the 'Posthuys'. From here, you can explore Vlieland on foot or bike.
Sommeltjes path / A walk for children - De Koog
A challenging walk for small children in the woods of De Dennen. There are all sorts of things to discover along the way. From an owl in a tree to sommeltjes living under tree roots. According to legend, the sommeltjes are goblins. The sommeltjes were used to frighten naughty 18th-century children. Start: Pelikaanweg near De Koog.
Labora ice cream farm - De Cocksdorp
Surrounded by fields, near De Krim is the Texel ice cream farm, Labora. Here, fresh milk and cream are processed into delicious ice cream products. Only natural ingredients are used and no colourings or preservatives are used. That’s what gives the ice cream its full, creamy taste! You can sample the ice cream at the farm or take it away with you.
Zelfpluktuin - Oudeschild
The Zelfpluktuin is a pick-your-own fruit and flower garden. It is open from mid-May once the first strawberries are ripe until the autumn half-term holiday.
