You can obtain your GVB (golf certificate of competence) and NGF (Netherlands Golf Federation handicap) in one week at Golfbaan De Texelse. As a novice you will be intensively prepared for your GVB and NGF exams during this week. If you have a preference for a particular period, you should book well in advance. There is room for a maximum of 16 participants per group.
Vakantiepark De Krim Texel is within walking distance from the golf course. This holiday park has the best facilities of all the parks in the Wadden Islands, allowing you to enjoy your holiday on Texel and be active at the same time. If you want to bring your family or friends with you, this is not a problem. While you are getting your golf certificate, they can have fun at the holiday park with its swimming pools, restaurants and bicycle hire, or enjoy Texel's many other attractions.
Accommodation reduced by 30%
If you wish you can add accommodation to your golf package at a reduced rate, booking a bungalow, chalet or apartment from Friday to Friday at a 30% discount. This offer does not apply in the months of July and August.
The GVB package includes:
- reception with coffee or tea
- golf packet with 3 golf balls, tees and a pitchfork with marker
- 15 hours of lessons from a PGAH golf professional
- 5 lunches
- golf balls for the driving range during the lessons
- use of the golf course (3 x par 3, 9 holes, 2 x par 72, holes 1, 2, 3 and 9)
- theory and practical exams, examination fees, GVB and NGF documents (if you pass the exams)*
You can also choose the following optional extras:
- Information and study material, consisting of a rule book and a book with multiple choice questions. These can be sent to you in advance. Cost €24.95.
- Extra green fees for extra practice during quiet periods (Mon -Fri). Par 3 €5.00 and Par 72 €7.50 (holes 1, 2, 3 and 9).
- Use of golf balls outside the lessons. Ball card costs €10.00 (3 for the price of 2).
- Hire of basic golf equipment for the duration of the lessons. Cost €50.00.
* Not including €12.50 for registration with the NGF. The NGF will send you a separate bill for this.

The examinations are held by the Texel Golf Club. Participants in the GVB/NGF lessons can only take the exam at the Texel Golf Club if they are not members of another golf club affiliated with the NGF. If you pass the exam, you can apply to the examination committee to have your handicap registered via the Texel Golf Club.
Golf shoes are compulsory on the large golf course but are not compulsory on the small course or the driving range.
