The BODY & Brain Festival is a unique sports and wellbeing event. The annual Texel festival takes in 2011 place during the first weekend of August, friday 5 till sunday 7 august 2011.
Why THE THINKER as a logo? The Thinker is the famous Auguste Rodin creation dating back to 1881 and was selected as the figurehead of the BODY & Brain Festival. Have you ever wondered why the artwork is actually called The Thinker, or why The Thinker has the ability to think? Take a good look at The Thinker’s physique! What strikes you? The Thinker is fairly muscular. Our theory is that he exercised and maintained his brain by exercising and maintaining his BODY. As The Thinker himself may have said: ‘You can tell by my demeanour that I’m thinking. I have the ability to think thanks to my toned muscles. Precisely, my body represents a healthy mind!’
The festival Become a thinker too and participate in the BODY & Brain Festival. Participants may be aged from 5 to 88 years of age and can enjoy various activities or workshops, ranging from ball games to aquatic sports to relaxation to walking to martial arts to music to the world record attempt in paddling.
